Who's a better INDIVIDUAL player, Tim Duncan or Kobe Bryant?

Some of you 'SO-CALLED' basketball fans just crack me up. Once I asked who was better between Duncan or Kobe and this is what I got by certain people, "Kobe is the better individual player but Duncan is the better team player." WTF? Anyways, that's a bunch of 'BULL!' Why? Because Duncan got all of his honors, stats, %26amp; etc on a individual basis. It was Duncans individual talent that got him the basketball resume that he got. So if Kobe's a better individual player then Duncan then he should have more individual accomplishments. dude you got it all wrong when people say individual.... if you watch those two in a pick up game would you really take Duncan over Bryant??? when we say individual skills we don't mean basketball stats.... kobe is faster, quicker, has a better shot, and has exceptional ball handling skills... the only advantage duncan has over kobe is strength and height and we've seen on many occasions that kobe can dunk or shoot over duncan.... duncan has better team success... and each year kobe's seasonal stats only rise unlike duncan....

by now you know im a laker fan but im also realist.... lakers will never win another championship until they get a real big man....

Duncan also wins in humility, being a role model, going tocollegeand finishing college,being faithful to his wife, and treating others with kindness and respect. Everything that is great about basketball is Tim Duncan. If everyone in the NBA was like Tim Duncan the NBA would be perfect. Kobe has to ruin it for everybody.

as im answering this, im picturing kobe in a one on one game vs tim duncan. kobe has speed, ability to defend, he can hit the 3-ball, and mid-range shots as well. Tim duncan's offense is restricted to anything within 18 feet of the basket. Tim's defense would be the only reason why he might be a better player than kobe.

Tim Duncan is one of the all time best players. He's not selfish and can score and rebound.

Kobe Bryant is a selfish ball hog who only cares about himself.
TD has more exp in the league than Kobe. he's spent more years in NBA than Kobe so obviously he has more awards for individual and team play.

Besides, basketball is supposed to be a team game not som place where you only think about your tricks. Sure increasibng your skills and nurturing your talent is something to keep in mind but it takes more than one guy to get to the ring.

MJ came into the leage with no jump shot at all he developed it during his carrer kobe has had all the moves since he was 18 he is two years younger and he isn't a forward who can get a double double. Only steve nash can get 10 assists ANY forward can get 10 rebounds. Kobe is the best player in the world right now. His team sucks thats true but hands down kobe Is the best player in the nba. Duncan is better BY FAR.

He is (in my opinion) one of the most unstopable players in the NBA. If he played on a team like Charlotte or Portland or even Seattle he would single handedly put them in the Playoffs.

I would have to say Tracy McGrady is better than Kobe (and i know im gonna get about 30 thumbs downs for this) becuase he is a true "team player" (although he does have his Kobe moments) I would bet anybody that the Rockets are going to the Western Confernce Finals this year with the addition of the MVP of the Fiba Americas in Scola and of course the addition of Steve (maybe still franchise) Francis. They are covered on every position and they have a decent bench as well. Plus look for them to MAYBE put Steve Francis at the SG postiton and start Aaron Brooks PG or put him behind Mike James. I live in Portland (obviously) and I must say that Aaron Brooks looks to be the next Gilbert Areanas or even Ray Allen with a passing skill. This Kidd***:-) CAN SHOOT

there are too many casual fans on here, as well as little kids... of course Kobe is the best all-around basketball player in the league. But then again, Who is the 7 footer who for years was afraid to play ( and still is ) center... which he played in college. Duncan is a defensive beast who is weak-minded... just imagine if he had the heart of Ben Wallace. At least Kobe has the Heart to play the 1, 2 or 3. Duncan is a all-star PF and a punk hearted C.
