Magic Johnson was better than Jordan in the team concept. Jordan was great at ball-hogging and scoring at will. Jordan could not beat the Celtics and Pistons and failed in the playoffs for many, many years.

Magic is really good probably not better one on one but if u had 2 start an All-TIme roster i would have 2 chose magic over jordan any day come on Dont forget he was a 6-9!!! This is all a matter of opinion, and there isn't really a right or wrong answer. With that said, Magic was on a better all around team then MJ. Championships are based off of team efforts not individual. That explains Magics early success with the Showtime crew in M. Copper, Kareem, Worthy, B. Scott and the rest of the crew. This team was no doubt better than the bulls. Magic just so happen to be the leader of this great team, but if you would have put Bird or Mike on this team, they would have been just as successful. Jordan was a better individual player than Magic, just off ability alone. Shooting, penetrating, scoring, defense and clutch shooting, acrobatic abitlity, hang time, all were in Mikes favor. He was also a hell of a floor general once Pippen and the rest of the staff came along. Everyone says Mike was nothing until Pippen came along, but before Pippen came he was averaging over 30 a game and was just being beaten by better "teams" in a deep eastern conference. And who the hell would Pippen be without Mike, certainly not in the top 50 of all time like he is currently. Like I said, his individual play could not win a championship for his team, but if Magic was forced to do it on a not so good Bulls team, as a one man show, he wouldn't had been as successful either. Plain and simple Magic was the better floor general and the better point guard and thats about it.
I agree Magic was better than Jordan. He was more versatile and had more intangibles.
And that game that won Lakers the final Hakeem was out so Johnson played center and got something like 30pts 16 rebounds and 8 assists and won the game for the Lakers.

first of all they played in different times, jordan had to carry the bulls with little help and magic had help from others. i say jordan is better.
