TMac giving spot?

So Tracy McGrady wants to give his all star spot up to someone more deserving according to the Houston Chronicle. The NBA doesn't allow it, so it may not happen, but he could just use injury to get out of it for someone else. What do you think of TMac saying this? And if he could choose, who would he choose to go that probably would not be chosen otherwise?

I think TMac was pretty gracious on his offer to give up his sport... Maybe AI or Chris Paul but i am not sure how the current voting is... but both are guards oh and Brandon Roy ;)
He can't choose. It isn't up to him. If he is selected he either goes or doesn't go. The only allowable reason for not going is injury. In which case the NBA Commissioner selects the player.

The public votes in the starters by way of voting.

The 30 coaches select the reserves by consensus.

The commissioner selects replacements.

I do think that McGrady should give up his spot. Maybe he'll do the right thing.
